Postprocesors

The task of the postprocessor is to convert the standard format generated in the CAM program into NC code, taking into account the machine control. Additionally, it can have many other functions, e.g. summing movements in individual axes, adding processing parameter limitations (adjusting the feed and spindle speed) and creating tool lists for the operator. All additional functions allow for the optimization of the CNC machining process. We write and modify postprocessors supporting CNC machines of all manufacturers, including: DOOSAN, MAZAK, HAAS, KIMLA, AVIA, DMG MORI, HERMLE, MIKRON, FANUC, OKUMA.

Postprocessors – solution description

CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) programs allow you to prepare machining for models created in CAD programs. Based on the geometry of the detail, the program selects appropriate operations and creates tool paths that reflect the movement of the tool relative to the processed detail.

The next stage of creating CNC machining is the appropriate processing of the obtained paths into control functions recognizable for the machine. Instructions for CNC machines, generated in the CAM program, are written in one of the standards: CL DATA – binary format, APT – ASCII format.

All additional functions allow for the optimization of the CNC machining process.

Based on our many years of experience, we offer comprehensive implementations of CAMWorks and SOLIDWORKS CAM programs for CNC milling machines, CNC lathes and EDM cutting machines. Our offer includes:

  • A database of postprocessors supporting the most popular controls (including FANUC, HAAS, SIEMENS, HEIDENHAIN, MACH3), which can be used to generate NC programs. These postprocessors have been tested in practice on many machines.
  • Adaptation of a postprocessor equipped with advanced functions that allow for full use of the capabilities of multi-axis machines and machining centers.
  • Updating the postprocessor with functionalities available in the latest versions of CAMWorks and SOLIDWORKS CAM.
  • Implementation of the postprocessor (testing all its functions) on the customer’s CNC machine.
