Laminates (layered material, pressed under high pressure, hardened with resin) are often used in furniture production. It can also be used for floors, panels, doors, and countertops. It is a hard material and is well suited for 2D machining. Woodworking tools, high-speed steels, or, best of all, carbides can be used here. To obtain the best surface quality, counter-rotating milling is possible (then the plate does not fray). Cutting parameters depend on the cutting depth and the tool.
CNC milling of plastics, e.g. ABS, requires specific parameters and rotational speeds so as not to glue the tools. It is good to use single or double-blade cutters. For materials in the form of foam, it may be necessary to use tools made of, for example, carbide.
