Integrating an ERP system with other applications is a very common practice, especially in the manufacturing environment. The main task of the solution designed by the SOLIDEXPERT team is integration of any CAD / PDM / PLM environment with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP system. The application supports the work of design and technology teams at the stage of the production preparation process, automates tasks, and prepares data for production needs.

If we are dealing with a large (and still growing) complexity of manufactured products, many of the problems of companies appear already at the stage of production preparation. Why is this?

This task is, above all, very labor-intensive. Especially in the case of machine production or production lines. The time that the planner spends on transferring the flat structure of the bill of materials from the CAD system to the so-called production BOM is very long. Machines often have thousands of components, and transferring the list to the system manually, the cost of starting production contributes to the occurrence of a large number of errors. In the final effect, this translates into the price of the finished product.

Thanks to the implementation of the CAD Connector solution, we gain not only access to the structure of the construction BOM in a clear "tree" form, but above all automatic creation of warehouse indexes for assemblies, details or BOMs. From the CAD Connector level, we have access to current technological documentation, and we can also fully control the documentation based on construction BOM revisions. Thanks to the option of automating the data completion process, the process runs smoothly, and we additionally gain the possibility of approving the correctness and completeness of data before saving.

After implementing the solution itself, we will observe a significant reduction in the time required for manual data processing, while completely eliminating errors resulting from entering data into the system ourselves. We start working on the same files at all stages of the product development process. This will allow us to significantly speed up the performance of everyday activities.
